Back Cover Text:
Wouldn’t you love to knit with a yarn that is such a tactile treat that you are reluctant to let go of your project? And that results in garments that just beg to be touched? Elsebeth Lavold found a Baby Alpaca yarn with just those properties. She named it SensuAl.
She put it to work in what was to become The Come Closer Collection. Look at the photos, and we think you will find that the name makes perfect sense. Not only do the designs invite you to move in close enough to feel the lovely softness, or, if you wear them, cuddle up in them; the “design extras” in the details so typical of Elsebeth Lavold are also there in abundance, begging to be carefully studied, and knitted.
Lalania, on the front cover, and Cecily on the back, are good examples of the theme that gave The Come Closer Collection its name. Additional designs, equally inviting, are made in “The Silkies”, Silky Flammé, Silky Wool and Silky Wool XL.
With a yarn so well suited for sensitive skin, it’s no wonder that the collection includes two mother-and-child designs, naturally equally wearable separately. Or a Möbius scarf so big it can be worn as an “almost vest”. The Come Closer Collection is a skilled designer’s invitation to you and your needles.
